Turkish Milk Pudding

This month for my Secret Recipe Club assignment I had the pleasure of going through the blog Burnt Apple. It was very interesting browsing through the recipes and cooking adventure shared. The recipes are very versatile, healthy and tasty. After a lot of thought I decided to settle down for this Turkish Milk Pudding, simply because I've never prepared anything Turkish, this recipe was so simple and I was having a sweet craving!
The only change I made was to halve the recipe, since I was preparing it the first time. It certainly did justice to my sweet craving and I can now say I've tried something Turkish. A very easy peasy recipe to try when you have to prepare a dessert quickly.

Turkish Milk Pudding
2 tbs flour
1/4 cup butter
2 1/2 cups milk
Sugar to sweeten
1/2 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon powder

Preparation

  • In a saucepan melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and sauté till the butter browns.
  • Stir in the flour and sugar, continue to whisk till the mixture thickens.
  • Add the vanilla and serve in bowls.
  • Enjoy!

  7. I've had a fascination with Middle Eastern cooking for the last couple of years - I love the interesting combinations of flavour and texture. In my exploration of these cuisines, I've seen variations of this kind of milk pudding crop up in several places, and I've certainly been curious about it. Now you have me thinking that I really need to try it.
