Teacher's Day Giveaway

For a school going child the role of the teacher is one next to his parents. Teacher's Day in India is celebrated on the 5th of September every year. It is the birthday of the second President of India, academic philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Childen in India felicitate their teachers in a special way and in the senior classes dress up like their teachers and role play. The celebrations culminate with a cultural programme and a feast for the teachers. Its fun, I still remember how we had our teachers in splits over our mimickry.

  1. I had a wonderful art teacher in Highschool that would allow me to come to her class during my lunch time or any other free time I had and do different are projects because I loved it so much. I never forgot her after all of these years. Thanks for the great giveaway and for bringing back good memories.

  8. One of my fondest memories is when my 4th grade teacher invited our entire class to her house for an end-of-the-year party. She had fun games, tons of food, and she let us run around her massive house and yard all day. It was so sweet and really made me feel like she cared about me!

  9. Hmmm I don't think we celebrate teacher's day here! My mom would always get our teachers very nice gift cards for every holiday...barnes and noble, the gap...useful things.

  12. I am a follower via GFC. I remember so fondly my 2nd grade teacher. She not only pretended not to notice when I read other books stuck inside the class reader (that I always read cover to cover the first day) but took me to a special reading conference with my mom. She was amazing.
