Time for this month's IIP. And what better choice in the season of love than a sundae!
One of my fellow bloggers and reader had requested me long ago for a "Gadbad". This one's for you Adam.
Gadbad in Indian languages means "confusion". I guess this dessert is named so because of the fusion of tastes. Its is said to have orignated in coastal Karnataka, specifically Mangalore. Usually scoops of different flavoured ice-creams are used, I have only used one homemade version. Needless to say this one was difficult to photograph (you can guess why) and very quick to vanish.
I have also used Homemade Jelly, if you havent tried it out yet, do give it a shot. The rose flavour of the jelly was simply great in this sundae!
Ingredients-
Fresh jackfruit
Dry fruit mix-
Figs
almonds
apricots
To assemble-
- Scrape the jelly with a fork and layer at the bottom.
- Scoop icecream (single flavour or different).
- Garnish with jackfruit and dry fruit chunks.
- Add a wafer biscuit and serve!

ReplyDeleteKnow something Shirley ... I'm having a very really bad cough for 2 weeks and I'm getting better now, all thanks to eating Jackfruit. Tip is to eat it straight after cutting up the fruit and not washing it. Seems it's a cure for cough.
