Chickpea Crepes with Tofu Crumble/ Besan Chila

A chila is a North-Indian crepe made out of chickpea flour. You can have your chila with chutney or roll it around a stuffing like Tofu Crumble. Very simple to prepare, you can serve it for breakfast or for snacks.
Besan Chila/Chickpea Crepes
Ingredients-
1 cup chickpea flour/besan
3/4 cup water
3/4 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste

Stuffing

1 cube grated cheese

Preparation-
  • Mix the chickpea flour with chilli powder and salt.
  • Slowly add the water, smoothen the lumps, till you get a pouring consistency.
  • Grate cheese over the tofu crumble and mix well. Keep aside.

  • Heat non- stick girdle and pour the batter, move the girdle in a circular motion, till the batter forms a circle and return to the fire.
  • After one side is cooked, flip it and cook the other side.
  • Flip over and place the stuffing in the center

  • Fold over both sides to the centre or fold one side like a Taco.
  • Serve hot.

  11. Now that you've "taught" me how to make the sweet potato crepes, I'll have to try the Chickpea crepes with the tofu crumble. BTW: You can let Kristy of My Little Space know that Garbanzo Bean flour is the same as the chickpea flour and is available from Bob's Red Mill.
